Celebtaing Burns 250th anniversary, the platwright Gerry Mulgrew brings a colourful play based around the Burns poemTam O'Shanter to the Perth Theatre at Horsecross. Experience the escapades of two drinking partners on a dark winters night. Featuring very short skirts, the undead and several farmyard animals, this is a terrifically amusing and amusingly terrifying night out at the theatre.

Burns Supper Perth

The Burns supper celebration will be held this year on January 25th 2009.

What happens at a Burns Supper? Here are some of the events at a Burns supper.

Piping in of the top table guests
The night starts with the bagpipes and the guests welcomingthe uadience by standing and clapping to the music

Chairmans Welcome
The host welcomes the top table and visitors
The Selkirk Grace
This is a prayer said before the meal starts..

Some hae meat and cannot eat
Some cannot eat that want it:
But we hae meat and we can eat,
Sae let the Lord be thankit.

Enter the Haggis
The Haggis arrives clapped in by the guests.
